‘Throughout my years of sourcing vintage I’ve realised that these little bags capture the era like few other accessories. Whether monogrammed, denim or of the Terry cloth juicy variety, mini bags were EVERYWHERE in the early 00s. As for most trends in this era we undoubtedly have patron saint of y2k, Paris Hilton to thank. Their popularity also coincided with the rise of mobile phones and in many of them there’s a little pocket especially for them. Mini was also a rising trend for phones then so while our iPhones may struggle to fit in them, these little pockets are a genuine relic from this era. I don’t care if they’re useless now! They signify the beginning of mobile phones being part of our everyday lives and if that’s not history, I don’t know what is.’
